The Helotes Humane Society is excited to announce that it will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary on March 17, 2018. The organization started as a grass roots effort in Helotes, Texas to bring awareness to the plight of abandoned and neglected animals in their community. Since that time, the organization has taken in 4974 animals in need. While most of those have been dogs and cats, they’ve also helped rabbits, birds, pigs, horses and reptiles.
The Society will hold a general membership meeting on Saturday, March 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Braun Hall. The public is invited to attend and learn about ways they can become involved with the organization’s mission to "provide for the benevolent treatment of animals and to promote humane education." A celebratory dance will follow at 7:30 p.m. with music by Bimbo and Borderline. Beer and wine will be available.
