Attend an annual National Weather Service Basic SKYWARN Spotter Class. 

SKYWARN is a volunteer program that trains severe weather spotters. The volunteers help keeps their community safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather. Helotes Office of Emergency Management has hosted multiple classes to teach our citizens how to report severe weather to the NWS.
