Helotes MarketPlace

Annually on the first Saturday of the month

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

14391 Riggs Road 
The Helotes MarketPlace takes place every first Saturday of the month around the traffic circle in the Old Town Helotes Special District, a historic retail area with many of the buildings dating back to Helotes’ first residents. This outdoor festival offers over 230 arts and crafts, nonprofit, retail, farmer’s market, and food vendor booth spaces. A live band plays on an outdoor stage while children enjoy complimentary activities in our entertainment area. Helotes Area Community Band – Spring Concert

Usually takes place in April

3 p.m. to 5 p.m. 
The Helotes Area Community Band is a volunteer organization comprised of musicians of all ages. In 2018, the band celebrated 10 years of making music in Helotes. The band’s spring concert is an annual event where attendees are treated to a professional concert that showcases the talents of these devoted volunteers. 

Cornyval Parade

Annually on the first Saturday in May

Parade starts at 10 a.m. 

The City of Helotes will celebrate the 54th Cornyval Parade on May 2, 2020. This annual event boasts nearly 100 parade entries and brings many more people to the City to take part in the festivities. It’s our biggest party of the year! Check back soon for details. 
Helotes Movie Night at the Park

Third Friday from May to September

Event starts at 6 p.m.

12951 Bandera Road 
Movie Night at the Park is held each summer on the third Friday of the month from May through September at City Hall. Attendees enjoy a live concert performed by the Helotes Area Community Band, food vendors, children’s activities, and a featured movie that starts at dusk. 
Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks

Usually on July 3

6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

12951 Bandera Road 
Families enjoy celebrating Independence Day at City Hall with children’s activities such as face painting, caricature artist, and train rides. City leaders distribute free hot dogs, apple pie, and ice cream while the Helotes Area Community Band performs a rousing patriotic concert. At dark, the event concludes with a spectacular fireworks show! 

Helotes Area Community Band – Veteran’s Day Concert

Usually on Sunday, Veterans Day weekend

3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

12951 Bandera Road 
We love our veterans and it shows! The annual Helotes Area Community Band Veteran’s Day Concert is held in the bays at the Helotes Fire Department. Veterans are celebrated for their service with the distribution of flags during the concert’s finale. Families enjoy refreshments as they honor our heroes. 

Lighting of the Lights

Annually in December

6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

12951 Bandera Road 

Families are invited to kick off the holiday season at City Hall each December. Local school choirs perform alongside the Helotes Area Community Band before the lighting of the City Christmas Tree. The highlight is the special visit by Santa Claus. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at City Hall by police escort and family photos are taken inside the Council Chambers. 
Cowboy Christmas Parade

Annually in December

7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Old Town Helotes 
This night parade takes place each December in Old Town Helotes. Parade entries are illuminated with Christmas lights as they bring holiday cheer to eager parade goers. The 2019 parade theme was “Let it snow.” Click Here for the 2019 parade winners list. 
Helotes Area Community Band – Christmas Concerts

Annually in December

Times and location vary 
The Helotes Area Community Band performs two Christmas Concerts, usually at local churches, each December. The concerts are a favorite in the community as they help families enjoy the sounds of this wonderful season.
