The Helotes Police Department is committed to the safety of people and property within our community. As a public service, the department offers the Patrol By program for households located within the Helotes Corporate City Limits.

Helotes residents planning to be out of town or away from home for an extended amount of time, may request that an officer drives by their residence during their absence. This request will indicate that you would like for the Helotes Police Department to drive by your residence while you are out to verify safety and security of the property.

Safety Tips:

Do not advertise when you are not home.
Stop mail services or have a neighbor pick up your mail if you are going to be gone for an extended amount of time.
confirm that all entries are secured and alarms are armed before leaving.
Never hide a key on property, if you need to, leave one with a trusted friend, neighbor, or family member.
Make arrangements for an emergency contact.
