The award-winning Helotes Public Works department is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and operations of all municipal infrastructure (streets, drainage areas, etc.), property, and park lands within the City of Helotes. In addition, the department works with a variety of Federal, State, and Local governmental and public utility organizations to ensure that basic City services remain uninterrupted.
The team supports Emergency Management in the City during and after weather events or other emergencies. From cleaning up after a storm to flood control or roadway maintenance, Helotes Public Works is always ready to serve.
Public Works supports all City-sponsored community events, including the Helotes MarketPlace and Cornyval Parade. This crew manages setup and logistics for Helotes events in partnership with Public Relations.
Helotes Public Works enjoys sharing their knowledge with the community. School groups and scout organizations have learned firsthand how potholes are fixed, traffic control practices, and, a crowd favorite, how to safely use the team’s big trucks.
