Public Information Act (PIA) Calculation of Business Days due to COVID-19
The City of Helotes has submitted a Public Information Act Catastrophe Notice and Extension Notice to the Office of the Attorney General. The requirements of the PIA were suspended during the following period: Friday, March 27, 2020 – Friday, April 10, 2020. Additionally, the Office of the Attorney General issued a Clarification Notice that provides governmental bodies with guidelines when calculating business days.
The City of Helotes responds to PIA Requests within 10 business days of receiving the request. A fee of $0.10 per page applies to all general public information. If applicable, additional fees for affidavits, postage, supplies, and video footage will also be assessed. The City Secretary’s Office will provide an itemized statement of charges to the requester. Payment and record retrieval are done at the Development Services (Permits) Department window inside City Hall.
