Helotes Police Chief, Rob Hunley, announced that the Helotes Police Department and Municipal Court are conducting a Warrant Roundup Feb. 24 through March 2, 2018.
Individuals with active warrants, deriving from Class C offenses such as traffic violations or other Class C misdemeanors, should immediately make financial restitution with the Helotes Municipal Court located at 12951 Bandera Road. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The City of Helotes Municipal Court is offering a 20 percent discount on warrants if paid in full by Feb. 23, 2018. The discount will only be applied if paid in person or by phone with the Court. Individuals should contact Court to verify the amount owed. Defendants are encouraged to take advantage of the options available now to resolve outstanding warrants because the discount will not be offered during the Roundup.
Active warrants that have not been cleared by Feb. 23 will be served during a City and countywide Roundup Feb. 24. Local law enforcement agencies will aggressively target those defendants with outstanding warrants.
Police Chief Hunley encourages “anyone who has an outstanding warrant to make arrangements with Court before the Roundup begins. Those with outstanding warrants will be subject to arrest at home, work, or in other locations if not settled beforehand.”
Notices are being mailed to defendants with active warrants. Citizens with warrants in other jurisdictions should contact those jurisdictions for information about how to clear those warrants.
Individuals who do not want to visit the Court in person may pay online at
www.trafficpayment.com or by phone at (800) 444-1187; however, if trafficpayment.com is utilized, then the 20 percent discount will not be applied and individuals will be required to pay the amount in full.
