About the Special Election
On July 22, 2021, City Council approved Ordinance No. 21-12, authorizing a special election to be held on November 2, 2021, on a proposition to vote for or against an increase in the local sales and use tax rate by 0.25% (quarter-cent). This would bring the total sales and use tax rate in the city from 8.00% to 8.25%. Learn more about the sales tax election by reading the FAQ section on the 2021 Special Election page.
Helotes City Hall is a vote center for the early voting period. Registered Bexar County voters can visit any vote center during early voting to cast their vote. To view all early voting locations, click here. Early voting hours will be:
Monday, Oct. 18 thru Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 – 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021 – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 25 thru Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 – 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 28 thru Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 – 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Helotes City Hall and Helotes Elementary School are vote centers on election day. Registered Bexar County voters can visit any vote center on election day to cast their vote. To view all election day voting locations, click here. Election day voting hours will be:
